PSG Form
PSG are picking up pace with every stage of the Champions League. In the league phase they produced mid-table numbers, finishing only 11th. They then edged past Monaco in the play-off ties, winning by a one-goal margin (3:2 and 2:2). However, in the quarter-finals the Paris side showed their full quality, thrashing Chelsea across both legs with an aggregate score of 8:2. PSG are tracking last season’s route, when they won the Champions League and, on the way to the final, eliminated three Premier League clubs. As a result, the French side are now on a run of four two-legged wins against teams from the Premier League.
- PSG have avoided defeat in 13 of their last 15 matches in this European competition (10 wins and 3 draws).
- At least three goals have been scored in 12 of PSG’s last 14 Champions League games.
- Both teams to score has landed in 9 of the French side’s last 11 matches in this tournament.

Liverpool Form
Unlike the Paris side, Liverpool avoided the additional play-off round, as they finished the league phase in third place and qualified directly for the Champions League round of 16. In that round, the team had to face Galatasaray, who were stronger in the first leg in Istanbul (1:0). But in the return match, the Merseyside team produced a convincing response, winning 4:0. That was their fourth win in the last five matches in this tournament, and in every case it came with a clean sheet. It is also worth adding that Liverpool have come through the Champions League quarter-final stage in six of their last eight two-legged ties.
- At least one of the sides failed to score in Liverpool’s last five matches in this European competition.
- The English side’s run of decisive results in the Champions League stands at 31 matches (22 wins and 9 defeats).
