Fulham
The Londoners have not won in three consecutive Premier League matches, drawing twice at home against Bournemouth and Ipswich (both 2-2) and losing away to West Ham (2-3). In the last round, Marco Silva's men ended this winless streak in the Premier League by defeating Leicester away (2-0). The club is mid-table and only four points away from the European competition zone.
Forward Reiss Nelson and defender Kenny Tete are sidelined due to injuries.
- Both teams have scored in 13 of Fulham's last 16 league games.
- The number "2" has appeared in the final score of Fulham's last five Premier League matches.
- At least two goals have been scored in the second half of Fulham's last five Premier League games.
Manchester United
The Red Devils lost to Brighton (1-2) in the last round, marking their sixth defeat at Old Trafford in the current Premier League season. Interestingly, this hasn't happened to Manchester United since the 1893/94 season when the club lost seven times after 12 home matches. Additionally, the team has only one win in their last six Premier League outings (1 draw and 4 losses). These results have seen United drop to 13th place, 11 points off the European competition zone.
Defenders Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans, as well as midfielder Mason Mount, are sidelined due to injuries. Note the transfer of forward Antony Matheus to Real Betis.
- In the last 15 league matches, fewer than two goals have not been scored.
- Manchester United have not won in 7 of their last 8 away Premier League games (4 draws and 3 losses).
- At least two goals have been scored in the second half in 9 of United's last 10 Premier League matches.
Fulham vs. Manchester United: Match Prediction
At least in this century, this is the first time the Londoners are favorites against the Red Devils in the Premier League. The poor form of the visitors is to blame. A change of head coach has only worsened the performance of the once-formidable club. It is unlikely that anything will drastically change in Manchester United's game within a week, so I also give a slight preference to the hosts, who are much more stable and have suffered only five defeats in the current championship.
At Craven Cottage, the Londoners have not lost in five matches, with one win and four draws. The team shared points not only with Ipswich and Southampton but also with Arsenal. I won't risk suggesting a clean win for Fulham here. It should also be noted that Manchester United have looked weak away, with only three wins in their last 16 Premier League away matches (6 draws and 7 losses). It is noticeable that United are much better prepared for top Premier League clubs, while they tend to lose or draw against mid-table and lower-ranked teams.
My prediction – Fulham with a handicap (0)
