Unibet has rolled out its sportsbook with a decent overall selection of sports including both American sports as well as some foreign-based games as well. The leagues and the sports topping the list are of course American staples.
Football, basketball, hockey and baseball top the list. Soccer and Tennis are also listed with soccer having the most markets by far with close to 50,000. The sports that you can find on Unibet’s site can be found in most other sportsbooks around New Jersey as well.
The exceptions are perhaps cricket and darts, which only seem to be offered by around half of the bookmakers in the state. The sports are actually very easy to be found, listed all on the left side of the page. Upon choosing a sport, you will be taken to the page featuring all of the available markets and leagues for this sport.
The bets here are separated by live and upcoming to futures bets instead. Another feature that is available at the bottom of the page is the option to change the odds format for all markets. You can change between decimal, American or fractional odds, depending on what’s easiest for the player.
The number of markets also varies quite drastically depending on the sport. Although, this can also be attributed to what season it is and what competitions are currently being held. However, at certain times, the differences can range from one market in one sport to around 50,000 for a sport like soccer.
This is, of course, a very dramatic example.
With over 50,000 markets available for this sport, you can see that Unibet is expecting a heavy amount of betting on the world’s number one sport even in The States. When it comes to the soccer category, one of the main methods of measuring a sportsbook’s worth is the number of leagues they have available. In this regard, you have no choice but to give Unibet the highest marks. With a total of 34 countries don’t the line, you can bet on all of the most popular leagues as well as some of the lesser-known leagues. Leagues from countries like Slovenia, Estonia, China, Bulgaria and even Gibraltar are listed in the soccer section. This is of course in addition to the top five leagues in the world as well as the MLS and Liga MX. Unibet’s soccer section is surprisingly bare when it comes to the major tournaments however, as only the Europa League and England’s EFL Cup are available for betting. However for the top countries like Italy, France etc. you can find both the top league as well as a lower-division league (Serie A/Serie B : Ligue 1 /Ligue 2). For most sections, there will be more markets for the more popular leagues. This does not appear to be an absolute for Unibet, even though England’s Premier League does have the most betting lines. For example, Bulgaria has almost 200 markets while the Brazilian, Russian and Czech leagues both have under 100. This appears to break the rule and system for determine the number of markets for each league. The top five leagues will all have approximately 150 markets however. For a single Bundesliga game, you can bet on the money line, bet with a handicap or make bets on totals. There are a couple of Asian lines listed as well. For prop bets, you can wager on the home or away team keeping a clean sheet, winning the first half or winning after being down a goal. You can also bet on which team will score first and if the total number of goals will be odd or even. Totals are available for both halves, as are the bets on the money line and double chance bets. Europa League games are available however future bets on the tournament are not.
Unibet does a good job including baseball on the sportsbook, and with a decent number of markets for most of the games. For the games that day, you can find an average of 50 markets offered. The Japanese League is also available however the markets here are quite poor especially when compared to the MLB lines. For the Japanese games you can expect to find the money line, handicaps and the total runs. The main lines do not have any variants here. In the MLB, the main lines are listed at the top with lots of variation for the handicaps and the total runs. The total runs can also be wagered on for each individual team and whether the total runs by the end of the game will be odd or even. Prop bets for the games include which team will be the first which will be the last to score, and one of the more exciting bets which team will have the highest-scoring inning. There is an ‘innings’ section for bets made in specific time periods of the games also offered. Handicap bets can bet found here for both the first three innings and the first five innings as well as different totals for the first inning, first three innings and first five innings. If you think there is going to be a large number of runs in the game you can bet on which team will be first to two runs and so on up to five runs. This can be especially helpful if one of the teams is more offensively apt or if one of the two pitchers is unquestionably weaker. For run lines there are a good number of options with the numbers ranging from -1.5 runs up to +3.5 for an average game. In the baseball section there are also parlays already put together for the player. The parlays combine a home or away team victory with an over/under bet for the total number of runs. There is another that combines the total runs over/under bet with a minus handicap for the home team. The odds on these parlays of course vary but are usually over +200 even for the most likely occurrence.
Unibet was rolled out in perfect time for the new NFL season. And with this section the sportsbook continues to impress with the sheer number of games and markets on deck. It is almost as if Unibet got some secret information that other bookmakers didn’t stating that the sport is popular in America. Wagers are offered for three leagues including the NFL, NCAAF and the CFL. With college football usually taking a back seat to professional in regards to sports betting the lines are noticeably less, however for many games they are not anywhere near scarce and there are much more available here than in other New Jersey sportsbooks. For the average NCAAF game you can find either around 40 markets or around three, with very few in-between. The number of markets does not appear to depend on the popularity or competence of the teams. For a Boise State- Air Force game you can 42 markets while for an Alabama game there are only 23. For the Air Force game you can find bets on the money line, totals and bets with handicaps. The number of alternate lines for handicaps is very good, with 14 lines for each team. Again, there are already combined parlays like the MLB. These combine the money line and total points as well as a spread for the home team and total points. Even for the CFL there are more bets available than in other New Jersey sportsbooks. Seventeen wagers are offered for most CFL games. In addition to the money line, handicap and totals you can make a wager on the first team to score and the main three bets for the first half only. The NFL is obviously the premier league in the USA, and Unibet stacks on the available offers for the league. For most games there is an average of 90 wagers listed, but the number can go all the way up to 160 markets. The combined parlays, money line, handicap and totals are all featured at the top. Alternate lines for the handicaps and totals are fairly impressive, with 25 and 16 alternates for each, respectively. Prop bets include the first team to ten points, first to fifteen and so on up to 30 points. First or last team to score, home/ away team to score first and win and whether there will be a safety or not are additional markets. Perhaps the most difficult prop bet to predict what the first scoring play will be (home/away touchdown, field goal, safety) is also available. Future bets can be found for all three leagues as well. For the CFL, you can bet on who will be the winner of The Grey Cup. The NCAAF has futures for the Heisman winner and conference winners for the Pac-12, Big 12, SEC and the ACC. Future bets in the NFL are separated by dat which can really help the player determine which bet to take based on how the long the wait will be until it is settled. Here you can bet on the winner of each conference, division and the eventual Super Bowl Champion. Individual awards like the Offensive/ Defensive Rookie of the Year and the MVP can also be found.
